Selena Gomez's mom tried to warn her about working with Woody Allen, but "it didn't click"

David Livingston/Getty ImagesSelena Gomez's mom reportedly advised her against working with Woody Allen on the upcoming film A Rainy Day in New York, but her concerns fell on "deaf ears."

As seen in a screen grab of an exchange on Instagram, a fan messaged Selena's mom Mandy Teefey on her production company's account, and suggested that Selena should "write an apology" for working with Allen.

Teefey responded, "Sorry, no one can make Selena do anything she doesn't want to. I had a long talk with her about not working with him and it didn't click."

She added, "Her team are amazing people. There is no fall person here. No one controls her. She makes all her own decisions. No matter how hard you try to advise. It falls on deaf ears."

Two of Selena's co-stars on the film, Timothee Chalamet [Sha-lah-MAY] and Rebecca Hall, have already donated their salaries to Time's Up and other organizations.

Allen has been accused of molesting his daughter, Dylan Farrow, though he denies the claims.

This is the second time Teefey has spoken out about her daughter in the past few days. Her Woody Allen comments come after she spoke to Gossip Cop, telling the website that while she is "not happy" Selena is dating Justin Bieber again, she realizes her daughter "can live her life however she wants as long as she is happy, safe and healthy."
