Jason "Poo Bear" Boyd brings Justin Bieber, J-Lo and Ty Dolla $ign together for "Bearthday Music"

Capitol RecordsHe co-wrote or produced some of your favorite songs.  Now he's got his own album out.

Jason "Poo Bear" Boyd is one of Justin Bieber's main collaborators. He co-wrote Justin's massive hits "Where Are Ü Now" and "What Do You Mean?" as well as most of the songs on Justin's 2013 release, Journals, and his most recent album, Purpose.

Boyd also co-wrote the "Despacito" remix featuring Justin, as well as DJ Khaled's #1 hit "I'm the One," Usher's hit "Caught Up," and songs for Pink, Mariah Carey and Chris Brown, among others.

Boyd's new album is called Poo Bear presents Bearthday Music and it features guest appearances by Justin, of course, as well as Jennifer Lopez, Zara Larsson, Ty Dolla $ign and Latin superstars Juanes and J. Balvin.

"It's just an album of different genres," Boyd tells ABC Radio. "I got all my friends, some megastars and some up-and-coming stars.  And I'm not really trying to be a singer -- I'm singing on a couple of things -- but my goal with this album is just to put out music to the world every year, like a birthday."

While most of his work has been in R&B and pop, Boyd says that Bearthday Music is very eclectic.

"I have a Brazilian record, I got a country record, I got urban records, I got pop records," he says of the album's different tracks. "So it's kinda like spread over and it won't just be typecast as one sound."

"I just wanna put it out hopefully to connect with the people," he adds, then laughs, "And if not, it's cool, y'know?"

Poo Bear Presents Bearthday Music is out now.
