Chris Brown Didn't Learn From Justin Bieber's Mistakes

Look, there aren't many lessons from Justin Bieber's life that apply to most people. "If you have an opportunity to collaborate with Diplo and Skrillex at the same time, do it." Great, if it comes up, I will! "Don't kick a country's flag at a sold out stadium show populated by thousands of that country's devoted citizens." I'll remember that next time I'm in Argentina! "Try to avoid the 'can I see your manager' haircut!" That I can actually do! I appreciate the reminder! Thank you!

Chris Brown, though, is different story. There are certain lessons that Brown can learn from Justin Bieber—and vice versa!—that are only available to pop stars of a certain means and follower count. For example, this lesson that Brown has recently learned the hard way: get the proper permits to own an exotic animal, like a Capuchin monkey, for example.

After showing off his baby monkey on Instagram, Brown could now be facing up to six months in jail for having a "restricted species" without a permit, though he's already turned over his new pet to the authorities, per TMZ.

It's not exactly the same situation Bieber once faced with his own exotic pet. Brown's Capuchin monkey is named Fiji. Bieber's Capuchin monkey was name O.G. Mally. O.G. Malley was confiscated at an airport in Munich in 2013 because Bieber didn't have the proper paperwork, including vaccination records and a permit (Bieber later claimed he "had all the right papers."). For Brown, it was several of his Instagram followers who told on him, calling the California Department of Fish and Wildlife after he posted an video of his daughter Royalty holding the pet last month.

The video is still live as of writing:

TMZ reports the case now resides with the L.A. City Attorney, and Brown's lawyer lamented the city of Los Angeles was using "taxpayer money on investigating monkey business." And to think, all this could have been avoided if someone just listened to Bieber for once.
