  • Channel 5 delves into the world of Billionaire Babies in the latest documentary
  • It follows a party planner and birthday cake maker who charge thousands
  • Money is no object for their clients, who splash thousands of toys and parties

Money is no object for the super-rich parents of the babies who star in a jaw-dropping new TV show.

The Channel 5 series gives a glimpse into the exceptionally privileged lifestyles of some of Britain's wealthiest youngsters, as the cameras follow some of the people who cater to their every whim.

Billionaire Babies, which airs on Sunday, follows Crystal de Gale, a party planner, Debbie Wingham - the baker behind the world's most expensive cake whipped up for £48.5million - and Amanda Martinez, who makes bespoke beds straight out of a fairytale for the offspring of stars and oligarchs.

Their clients think nothing of splashing £20K on a princess bed for their princess, £2,500 on a hotel suite for a children's sleepover, or a cool £25,000 on a vintage-themed tea party.

In the show viewers meet Debbie Wingham, a children's birthday cake maker who charges thousands for her fantastical creations.

Her cakes have become something of a status symbol in elite circles, and Debbie says her clients compete to order the most expensive designs.

'They are going bigger, better, and more bonkers. Special effects, whatever it may be,' she says in the show.

She's attracted famous clients from around the world, including rapper Drake and Justin Bieber, but her latest demanding client is a four-year-old with their heart set on a candy-themed cake complete with built-in sweet dispenser.

The show also follows Amanda Martinez, bespoke bed maker to London's wealthiest families, who counts the Beckhams and former international football star Dennis Bergkamp among her clients.

She works with artist Annie Newman, who handpaints the beds she creates with precise attention to detail.

Amanda reveals her latest creation on the show - a hand-made bed shaped like a princess' castle and covered in 23karat gold leaf, gemstones and custom artwork - that comes with a hefty price tag of £20,000.

Her four-year-old client is the daughter of a successful businesswoman, who Amanda described as very 'strong-minded' before delivering the order, explaining that she would soon find out if it was not up to expectations.

But she had nothing to worry about; her client was thrilled with the results, gushing: 'I love it.'

Another person who counts the super-rich as clients is Lulu Gwynne, who organises vintage-themed children's tea parties.

At her children's parties there's entertainment, party food, and covetable goody bags stuffed with everything from leather-bound books to gifts from Harrods.

Of course, her vintage themed affairs come with a very modern price tag attached.

'The most expensive tea party I've ever done is in excess of £25,000,' she recalls in the programme.

She estimates that the cost of the actual party could cost up to £30,000 with the entertainment, cakes, treats and good bags

'My clients have money to indulge their children and what better way to do that than with a vintage afternoon tea party?

'Children enjoy tea parties. It makes them feel very important and they are enjoying privilege and high society. They expect a royal experience when they come to tea.'

She added: 'I think it's very reasonable for the amount of money the clients are spending that they can be as particular as they like.

'They want extravagance, they want uniqueness, they want something that is very special.'

In the show Lulu hosts a £13,000 trial run for a Russian client who has booked an Alice in Wonderland themed party that she says will eventually cost around £30,000.
