Justin Bieber's monkey may have been taken away from the pop star in 2013, but according to a new report, his former furry friend, OG Mally, continues to grapple with adjusting to life in the zoo.
The monkey, who was reportedly an "unexpected birthday gift", was taken from Justin in 2013 during a stop on his tour. According to a report in People, the pop star didn't provide the proper documents to German customs to show he had custody of the monkey. Mally was subsequently taken from the singer and moved to a German zoo.
However, according to a babe interview with zoo officials, OG Mally has continued to have trouble adapting. Zoo representative, Asta Knoth told babe that OG Mally "still has issues speaking the capuchin language." She explained that "he still tries to imitate human speech. He sometimes makes weird scratchy sounds which are not typical for capuchins. That's why we think he still tries to talk to humans."
Despite OG's attempts to learn capuchin language, the zoo did confirm the animal enjoys his new home and has remained in good health since arriving at the zoo. According to the zoo, when OG Mally first arrived he was "frightened, he was alone, he was disoriented and we did not know how things would work out for him. He needed to be cared for constantly."
