After five months of rekindled romance bliss, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez reportedly had their first significant fight early this month that ultimately led to them taking a break. While everyone thought that the disagreement was about Selena's disapproving parents, that assumption was off-base, with People reporting that Sel "wouldn't base her relationship off of what her mom thinks."

So what's the deal? What's the big argument that stopped Jelena's glorious, cuddling-in-the-streets romance in its tracks?

Apparently, the pair have been butting heads for a while about how they want to handle their relationship in the spotlight.

"They had several disagreements on their lifestyle and how to handle their relationship in the public eye," a source told E!News about the couple's main issue. "She really wants to keep things low key and out of the spotlight. Selena has been spending time with her family and her girlfriends."

Apparently, everything came to a head on Justin's birthday. Yup, despite the fact that Sel shared a gushy post on Instagram about Justin being "super cool" in honor of his birthday, it looks like there was some trouble in paradise on his big day.

"She's on a break with Justin partly because of family pressure but also because of some issues surrounding his birthday," another source told E! News. "She wanted to have a quiet birthday celebration with Justin and he wanted to go big and involve all of his church friends."

So, is this the end for Jelena 2.0 (or is it, like, 5.0)? Well, no. The pair is reportedly still in contact and could get back together at any moment.

"They are still in contact and talking," a source told E! News. "They have cooled off on being together all the time and making it a big serious thing."

The two probably still see each other at church. "She is still going to church and keeping the lines open with Justin though. This is a more reset and a step back to reevaluate what's going on and what direction they want to go in," the source revealed.

When you're a celebrity, how public you want to be with your relationship can be make or break, so hopefully this pop star duo can figure things out and start making out in the street again.
