Justin Bieber is not jealous of Selena Gomez's friendship with Timothee Chalamet, despite a made-up report in one of this week's tabloids. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the bogus claim. We're told there's no truth to it.
Gomez and Chalamet hit it off while playing love interests in Woody Allen's upcoming movie A Rainy Day in New York, and have remained in touch since shooting wrapped. The co-stars even record Instagram Live videos together while hanging out, but their relationship is completely platonic. However, that hasn't stopped OK! Australia from falsely claiming that Bieber is upset about his girlfriend spending time with the actor.
"Selena & Timothee Driving Justin Crazy," reads a headline in the latest issue of the magazine. The accompanying article quotes an alleged insider as saying, "Selena and Justin have been arguing nonstop," over her friendship with Chalamet. The supposed source adds, "Justin is worried that Timothee and Selena's on-set chemistry could translate into real life… Their closest friends are saying that they're on the verge of breaking up."
But Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who shot down the baseless claim that Chalamet is coming between the couple. In fact, Gomez was spotted cheering on Bieber as he played in a hockey game on Wednesday, after which the two attended church together. The couple clearly isn't headed for a split, despite the outlet's assertion otherwise.
It should be noted, OK! Australia can't keep its narratives straight when it comes to Bieber and Gomez's relationship. The unreliable tabloid wrongly reported in December that the two were planning a secret wedding in Barbados sometime in early 2018.
This also isn't the first time the magazine has attempted to throw the pair into a nonexistent love triangle. Gossip Cop recently busted the publication for falsely claiming that Gomez had warned Kourtney Kardashian to stay away from her boyfriend. This latest article is more lies from the frequently discredited tabloid.
