Justin Bieber won a Latin Grammy back in November for his remix of "Despacito" by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee. The Canadian singer wasn't there to accept his award, so it was meant to be shipped to him, but it accidentally ended up in the wrong mailbox.
Producer Carlos Escalona Cruz, who works with salsa superstar Marc Anthony, revealed that he received Bieber's statuette via mail. Escalona Cruz produced the album "Marc Anthony for Babies", which won a Latin Grammy, but in another category. The producer shared the funny mistake on Instagram by posing with the trophy emblazoned with Bieber's name and the category in which he won: "Best Urban Fusion/Performance 2017."
"This is the funniest way to start #2018," wrote Escalona Cruz. "I was expecting a #Grammy for @marcanthony for babies and I received @justinbieber Grammy for #despacito remix with @luisfonsi and @daddyyankee instead."
The producer jokes that Bieber must have mistakenly received his award — although that's not been confirmed — tweeting amusing memes at the "Sorry" singer, requesting that he return his Grammy.

In an interview with TMZ, Escalona Cruz said he was shocked to have receive Bieb's accolade and reached out to the Latin Academy of Records Arts & Sciences to inform them of the gaffe. The Academy apologized for the mixup and asked that Escalona Cruz return it so the academy could send it to its rightful owner.
In November, Bieber joined a small group of artists who have won both a Grammy and a Latin Grammy. The 23-year-old's remix of the mega hit broke records by sitting at the top of Billboard's Hot 100 chart for 16 weeks in a row and reigning as the most-watched video of all time on YouTube.
