Justin Bieber may want to rethink not attendingevery award show after a recent trophy mixup in the mail. The pop star won his first Latin Grammy Award back in November for working on the "Despacito" remix, but unfortunately, his award might be a little delayed in getting to him.
In a post to Instagram, Carlos Escalona Cruz, the producer for singer Marc Anthony's album Marc Anthony for Babies shared that he received Justin's Latin Grammy in the mail by mistake, TMZ reported. Since Justin wasn't in attendance at the award show, the golden gramophone was mailed to him, or in this case was accidentally mailed to Carlos.
Carlos shared a picture of himself holding the Grammy captioning the image with: "This is the funniest way to start #2018, I was expecting a #Grammy for @marcanthony for babies and I received @justinbieber Grammy for #despacito remix with @luisfonsi and @daddyyankee instead."
The producer told TMZ in an interview that he was "shocked" to receive the incorrect award and contacted the Grammys. They reportedly told Carlos to send the award back to them so it could be re-sent and routed to its rightful owner. Carlos is clearly taking it all in stride though, posting a series of memes regarding the snafu on his Instagram. His followers also shared in the disbelief and confusion and shared their thoughts on the matter in his Instagram comments.
Justin hasn't yet responded to the Grammy swap, but here's hoping maybe he'll share a 'gram once the Grammy finally arrives.
