Justin Bieber did not "nearly team up" with Rita Ora on a song for the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack, nor did he turn down the chance to record a solo number. Gossip Cop can bust a report that emerged on Tuesday. We're exclusively told by a spokesperson that it's "made-up."

Last week, Ora released a new collaboration with Liam Payne called "For You." The pair first teased the joint track in late December, revealing it was tied to Fifty Shades Freed, which is the third and final film in the Fifty Shades Of Grey trilogy. The full soundtrack, which will drop on February 9, the same day the movie hits theaters, also features Hailee Steinfeld, Sia and even the series' lead actor, Jamie Dornan. But now the Daily Star is claiming Bieber could've been in the mix, too, either as Ora's duet partner or on his own.

"Producers of the upcoming movie sequel had different plans for the first single and wanted Justin Bieber to be the man to get listeners hot under the collar," claims the British tabloid. A so-called "source" is quoted as saying, "Originally Universal Pictures wanted Justin Bieber to sing a song on the soundtrack, either with or without Rita. He's the biggest male pop star in the world and so that's what they aimed for."

The UK paper's supposed snitch goes on to allege, "They had the world's biggest female pop star in Taylor Swift do the last film, so they were keen for something a bit different because Zayn Malik sang that with her and he comes from One Direction as well." But, claims the outlet, Bieber was "intent on having a break and made it clear he would not be taking on any extra recording commitments." The matter was then purportedly resolved because "Liam was on hand and got involved thanks to Rita."

But Gossip Cop has learned that this alleged version of events is not accurate. On the contrary, a rep for Bieber exclusively tells us the claims about the singer potentially being involved in the soundtrack and declining are "made-up." And this isn't the first time the Daily Star has falsely linked the superstar to a supposed project.

In 2016, Gossip Cop busted the publication for peddling a fake interview with Bieber in which he supposedly revealed he was going to work with Cheryl Tweedy. At the time, his spokesperson confirmed to us that Bieber never said any such thing to the newspaper. Now this Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack story is another completely false tale.
