The Russian President was at a meeting last Friday when his Minister of Agriculture, Alexander Tkachov, started discussing how the country could further boost its trade.
Comparing Russia to Germany, Mr Tkachov said they could increase exports by selling pork to Indonesia.
But clearly, the politician didn't see a big flaw in that plan – that Indonesians are mostly Muslims and won't eat pork.

The trade suggestion prompted Putin to start laughing, with the strongman even putting his face in his hands as he tries to stifle his giggles.
Putin responds to his initial point, saying: "Indonesia is a Muslim country. They do not eat pork there".
His minister replies: "They will,' before the president jibes back: "No, they will not," while chuckling.

Russian Regions VK / east2west n Mr Tkachov reportedly later made it clear that he actually meant South Korea and not Indonesia.
The Russian President has had a lot on his plate recently in the form of the ongoing North Korea crisis.
He has been working to de-escalate the tense situation as Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un make increasingly terrifying war threats at each other.
