What's it like to scare the heck out of people for a job?
USA TODAY entertainment reporter Carly Mallenbaum (@ThatGirlCarly) went full demon to find out, going behind the scenes at Universal Studios "Hollywood Horror Nights."
In this week's special Halloween spook edition of USA TODAY's Straight Up Hollywood podcast, Mallenbaum spills about transforming into a hideous horned demon and joining the crew of "scare actors" working the mazes in the entertainment world's premiere horror destination.
Mallenbaum shares the tricks of the trade and the unbreakable ground rules (no touching is a big one).
Surprisingly enough, she says the park actors are mild-mannered folks by day. But at night, they turn into the worst kind of monsters.

Also on this edition of the podcast, movie reporter Bryan Alexander (@BryAlexand) talks about his interview with one of the hottest actors in Hollywood. Not only does Josh Brolin play lead in the moving firefighter drama Only the Brave (now in theaters), he's also just wrapped playing Cable in Deadpool 2 and starring as the baddest Marvel baddie ever, Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War (out May 4).
Hear Brolin talk about everything from the Justin Bieber style haircut he's still sporting from Deadpool to shaving his eyebrow (another Cable byproduct).

The podcast gets serious talking about covering Hollywood as the industry town is consumed by the fallout from the scandal surrounding disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein. West Coast Entertainment Editor Andrea Mandell (@AndreaMandell), Bryan and Carly share what it's like to talk to the stars in person about harassment in their workplace.

On a lighter note, we also give our Halloween horror movie picks! Finally, we present a working photo of Mallenbaum when she's not scaring people (please notice, no horns).
