Any memories of the Warriors' shocker of a 2017 were left back in winter on Tuesday night, as the team marked the end of the season with its traditional awards ceremony.
Captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, 24, was named Vodafone NRL Player of the Year, while Stacey Jones' 261 record appearances were overtaken by 31-year-old Simon Mannering's 280 games, and Shaun Johnson's 775 Club Record points surpassed Jones' 674 points.
There was plenty more to celebrate too. New CEO Cameron George and his partner Emma Smith had a baby girl, Stella Rose, two weeks ago; George paid tribute by donning a pink tie. And Spy was pleased to hear fortunes are improving for coach Stephen Kearney with the news his wife Piri is in remission after fighting breast cancer.
Silver Fern Kayla Cullen was thrilled to be with her MVP Shaun Johnson, however all eyes were on outgoing Warrior Bodene Thompson and his girlfriend, dancer Kaea Pearce.
The pair posed together for Spy drawing a line under last week's dramas, where Sydney model and former stripper Belinda Medlyn made claims about group sex with NRL players, including Thompson. Thompson and Medlyn have a 15-month-old son, Hendrix.
Pearce is a fierce defender of her beau, who she has been dating for more than a year: "He treats me like a queen and my family like his own and the past is the past," she posted on social media. Pearce, who has danced back-up for Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna and The Weeknd, couldn't have been prouder of Thompson's achievements on the night.
No word yet on Thompson's next move, but he may wish to accompany Pearce who next month joins her main woman Parris Goebel in The Parris Project World Tour. The troupe premieres in Sydney then it's back home to Auckland, on to Manila, then traversing the globe before hitting the big cities of Europe.
