Canadian pop star Justin Bieber has stirred rumors that he is cooking up new music for Hillsong Church after he was spotted a couple of times with Pastor Carl Lentz at a recording studio in Beverly Hills.
The Daily Mail reported that Bieber was spotted with Pastor Lentz at the recording studio on Sept. 20, and they were seen in the same place the next day. While public appearances of the duo are not unusual, their trip to the Beverly Hills studio could mean that they are teaming up for new music for the Hillsong megachurch, Christian Today suggested.
Just last month, an insider told People Magazine that Bieber has been a better person since he embarked on his new spiritual journey. The report came in the wake of the cancellation of his Purpose world tour and fans' speculations about his mental state.
In an open letter after the decision to cancel Purpose, Bieber admitted that he had allowed his broken relationships to affect his treatment of other people. Nevertheless, he expressed appreciation for the people who helped bring him back up the last couple of years.
"I let my broken relationships dictate the way I acted toward people and the way I treated them! I let bitterness, jealousy and fear run my life!!!!" said Bieber in his open letter. "I am extremely blessed to have people in the past few years help me build my character back up reminding me of who I am and who I want to be!!!"
During the times when Bieber constantly attracted negative comments for his misbehavior, Pastor Lentz mentored and defended him. The pop star later wanted to be baptized, and Lentz conducted the ceremony at Tyson Chandler's bathtub.
Speaking to Complex Magazine in 2015, Bieber revealed that he wants to "live like Jesus." He knows that he could never be like Christ, but he wants to follow the Lord's example of showing grace and kindness to the people around him.
Bieber also opened up about the pain and insecurities that he faces. Nevertheless, he expressed confidence that he can overcome all these negative feelings with the help of Jesus Christ.
