After Dave Grohl announced that the "biggest pop star in the world" would be appearing on the new Foo Fighters album, Concrete and Gold, everyone couldn't help but guess who it could be. Lady Gaga? Beyoncé? Taylor Swift? Adele? Katy Perry? Justin Bieber?
"No" to all. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Grohl revealed that the mystery pop star they collaborated with is Justin Timberlake.
So how did Timberlake find himself singing on a Foo Fighters record? According to Grohl, Timberlake would stop by the studio they were recording in to listen. Pretty soon he and Grohl became best friends and Timberlake asked if he could sing on the Foos' record, to which Grohl happily agreed.
Concrete and Gold already has a number of cameo appearances. Sir Paul McCartney appears on drums on one of the songs, along with Boyz || Men singer Shawn Stockman.
