A COUPLE OF weeks ago, Justin Bieber stopped in for a few drinks in the Gramercy Ale House in New York – who describe themselves as "the Best Little Bar in Manhattan."
Given his universal fame, the story of him going for a few pints by himself at the Gramercy made gossip website Page Six, who set the scene:
a friendly Bieber, 23, told a group of bar-goers "he had a couple days off and was just hanging out."
The conversation only lasted "for like 12 seconds" before one of them bought Bieber a Guinness.
Fair play for choosing Guinness in the – presumably – warm New York summer.
But little did they know, there was another twist in the tale before he even got served. As the Tullamore Tribune reported this week, the bartender was Offaly man Trevor Kelly – who didn't have a breeze who Bieber was. Resulting in this great headline
Trevor told the paper that the pub is accustomed to getting celebs in the door, given their location:
The bar gets a lot of customers involved in sports. We have done 'Saturday Night Live,' after-parties and often get celebrity guests including, Jimmy Fallon, Fred Savage, David Spade, Harrison Ford and Kate Winslet
But Bieber wasn't on Trevor's radar at all.
Which led to this perfect moment:
He came up and asked for a bottle of Corona and I asked him for his ID.
Straight and to the point from the Clara man – who told the paper that Bieber later switched to the black stuff.
This was probably his reaction as he reached for his ID:
DailyEdge.ie has contacted Trevor to ask some important questions:
- what sort of ID is Bieber carrying?
- on a scale of 1-10, how mortifying is the little picture on it?
- how did he like his Guinness?
The Gramercy addressed the story on Facebook last night:
Come on down to the Gramercy Ale House to sit down and maybe catch a celebrity…
But be expected to get ID'd – no matter how many bangers you've recorded.
