Pegging your shoe at someone isn't just a practical way to injure someone from several paces away, it's also a gesture fraught with symbolic meaning.
When Iraqi journalist Muntadhar al-Zaidi famously hurled his Size 10 creps at George W. Bush, he yelled "this is a goodbye kiss from the Iraqi people, dog."
Hell, former PM John Howard even faced a flying Doc Marten in 2009 from someone labelling him a out-and-out racist.
This is all to say that throwing footwear signifies some serious misgivings. Keep that in mind when watching this footage from Justin Bieber's appearance at Stockholm's Summerburst festival over the weekend, where the Despacito singer admitted he, uh, couldn't actually sing Despacito.
Speaking to the hyped-up crowd, Bieber copped to the fact he couldn't reproduce his Spanish feature on the Luis Fonsi ft. Daddy Yankee chart-topper. "I don't even know it... I don't remember it," Bieber said.
Then, he ducked away from the airborne clog. "Oh, don't throw things at me, please," the bloke asked.

Of course, this isn't even the first time the fella has had to admit he no habla espaƱol. During a nightclub appearance a lil' while back, Bieber subbed out much of his feature with the phrase "I don't know the words so I sing burrito."
