It looks like Justin Bieber had a break in his super busy schedule to give some fans the surprise of a lifetime.
On May 19, the 23-year-old singer was spotted in Montclair, New Jersey, supporting a fan who was performing on the sidewalk. The interaction with fans was caught on a video that's now making the rounds on social media. It starts off with Biebs taking over the microphone and requesting that fans "put down your phones and be a normal person for a second," a sentiment he's shared — albeit, much more aggressively — with fans who have tried to take his picture in the past. However, things move on and he lets the girl who was originally singing back on the mic.
Justin can be seen cheering on the young woman while she sings and plays guitar to Colbie Caillat's "Brighter Than The Sun." During the performance, he has his arms around two other fans and the three of them sway together to the music. At the end of the song, he gives everyone in the crowd high fives. Check it out:
Though it's a little unclear how he ended up in the middle of the New Jersey town, it's no surprise that JB would offer his support to a street performing singer considering that he, too, got his start as a busker. Before he was discovered, baby Bieber used to post up on street corners in Canada and sing with his guitar for tips, as Hollywood Lifepoints out. He's come a long, long way since, so it makes sense that he'd want to support someone who's in the same boat as he once was. Take a trip down memory lane below.
