A Queensland university law lecturer has briefly faced court accused of tricking children online into thinking he was pop superstar Justin Bieber so they would send him pornographic images.
Gordon Douglas Chalmers was charged with 931 child sex offences in March after Queensland detectives seized and searched his computer.
The 42-year-old appeared via video link in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday and had his case adjourned to May 2 to match up with a number of existing charges.
The charges against Chalmers date back to 2007 and include counts of indecent treatment of children and making child exploitation material.
Police allege Chalmers used Facebook and Skype to impersonate Bieber and persuade the singer's fans to send him explicit images.
