Justin Bieber lands eight new Guinness World Records

Justin Bieber has scored an impressive eight titles in the 2017 edition of Guinness World Records thanks to the success of his Purpose album.

The Baby hitmaker has enjoyed a record-breaking nine months since his fourth studio album was released in November, picking up new titles for hits like What Do You Mean?, Sorry, Love Yourself, and Company.

Bieber had the most simultaneous tracks on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart with 17, and he also had the most simultaneous new entries in the Billboard Hot 100 by a solo artist with 13 songs.

In the U.K, he became the first act to occupy all three top positions simultaneously on the singles chart with Love Yourself, Sorry and What Do You Mean?, which was also the most streamed track on Spotify in one week, scoring more than 30 million plays over the course of seven days, while Purpose landed a similar feat as the most streamed album on the music service in a week.

The 22-year-old is also the most followed male on Twitter with over 85 million devotees, racking up 11 million more since January alone.

Bieber, who began his career by posting covers of songs on YouTube, continues to rule on the video site, with his individual music channel holding the record for most views with 10.4 billion, while more than 20 million fans subscribe to his channel - the most for any male musician.

A team from Guinness World Records presented the eight certificates to Bieber prior to a recent sold-out concert at New York City's Madison Square Garden.
