Of all the names and faces that showed up at the MTV VMAs last night, Justin Bieber wasn't one of them. It wasn't for lack of being nominated — the singer had three chances to win a Moonman Award, yet he still opted not to attend the event. He wasn't scheduled to perform, either, a marked difference from last year, in which he both performed and dropped the music video for "What Do U Mean." (Yes, it's been a full year since that song debuted.) But the logistics of not showing up to Madison Square Garden made no difference to the Biebs, who still put on a performance of his own all the way across the country.
After being spotted on a beach getaway with Sofia Richie in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Justin did a karaoke session in L.A. and his go-to song of the night will surprise you. He did a rendition of the 1957 classic, "Great Balls of Fire," by Jerry Lee Lewis. Though it's a little different from what he does normally, it's no surprise that he nailed it. (He is a professional, after all.) Some people opt for a heartfelt rendition of perennial karaoke jam, "I Want It That Way," and some just go for the off-the-wall choice. Justin is most certainly the latter.
