Tyler, the Creator Is Really the One Who Brought Supreme Back, Not Chance the Rapper

Earlier this month Chance the Rapper made a rather bold statement insisting that he brought Supreme (and Champion) back.

"Everybody knows I brought Supreme back," the Chicago rapper stated during an Instagram Live stream. "I don't talk about it all day because I'm not that type of dude, but…I did bring Champion back. So, all of these lame n****s rockin' Champion, y'all should thank me for making you unlame."

Following the declaration, fans expectantly took to social media to give their two cents, many of whom disagreed with Chance.

Now, however, we've been presented with some data to see if Chance really did help popularize the celebrated streetwear brand, more specifically in comparison to some of his peers in Tyler, the Creator, Travis Scott, A$AP Rocky, and Justin Bieber.

The study makes use of "Google trends detailing the relevancy of different artists and their association with Supreme." The graphic then ultimately shows that Tyler, the Creator has been significantly more influential when it comes to Supreme, namely around 2011 before he was more notably pushing his own brand and deals with the likes of Converse.

The numbers also note that Travis Scott's association has caused a steady up-spike since 2015.
