After Selena Gomez got back together with Justin Bieber following her kidney transplant last year, rumours circulated the web suggesting she was feuding with her mum over the reunion.
Selena's mum, Mandy Teefey, has now opened to Gossip Cop about watching her daughter grow up and the return of Justin Bieber.
"I was so proud of her bravery," she said speaking of Selena undergoing surgery. "When you are young, you feel invincible and she had to learn that she was not able to be your typical 20 year old."
Mandy didn't contact Justin when Selena was in hospital and has not had any communication with him in "years", admitting that although she is "not happy" the two are back together, "Selena can live her life however she wants as long as she is happy, safe and healthy."
"Every mother and daughter has disagreements," she said when talking about how she and her husband no longer manage their daughter.
"We never expected to manage her her whole life. We lost family time because the only time we saw her, we talked business. It was no longer fun for any of us, like it was when she was younger and we had to be with her because she was a minor.
"She is 25 years old and knows what is at stake with her health. I do not control her the way it has been portrayed. Selena is an adult and can make her own choices."
Selena and Mandy unfollowed each other on Instagram last year, however, have since made up with the 'Hands to Myself' singer even changing her profile picture to one of her mum!
