SELENA Gomez's mum was taken to hospital after a huge row about Justin Bieber, according to US reports.
TMZ claims that Mandy Teefey got "so worked up" about her daughter's rekindled romance with the singer that she needed treatment.
The website reports that police visited her at a LA hotel to do a welfare check, at a family member's request, reports The Sun.
She was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital for voluntary treatment — not under a 5150 hold.
A 5150 hold is a section of the California Welfare and Institutions Code, which authorises a qualified officer or clinician to involuntarily confine a person suspected to have a mental disorder that makes them a danger to themselves, a danger to others, or gravely disabled.
Sources reportedly told the website that Teefey had a "heated" conversation with her daughter and was shocked to learn how serious they are.
Gomez is believed to have told her mum that they were having couple's therapy — a sign that they are really trying to make it work.
Gomez, 25, and Bieber, 23 — who dated on and off from 2011 to 2015 — have recently reconciled followed her split from The Weeknd.
Their reunion came after she underwent a kidney transplant in secret earlier this year.
The pair have been almost inseparable since, regularly attending church services together.
It was previously reported that Bieber wanted to "prove" to Gomez's family that he has changed.
A source told People magazine: "Justin is aware Selena's family is not thrilled they are hanging out. They think he caused Selena a lot of grief. Justin hopes he can prove to them that he has changed.
"He has changed a lot in the past few months. He is a very different person. They have a lot to talk about and are having fun catching up."
It comes after a member of Gomez's family slammed Bieber as a "vile human".
"Justin is a vile human and will never be accepted by us. As long as she is even speaking to him in any way, it is not only disrespectful to everyone around her, it is disrespectful to herself."
