HollywoodLife claims to have "exclusively" learned that Selena Gomez hopes she and Justin Bieber can go on a double date with Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn. The untrustworthy webloid, however, has a history of creating fake "double dates" between celebrity couples. Gossip Cop can expose how the site is recycling the theme for a new made-up story.

A so-called "source" tells the outlet, "It's no secret that Taylor and Justin aren't friends but there was a time when they actually did get along and Selena would love to see them get back to that good place." The site's alleged source adds, "In a perfect world she and Justin could double date with Taylor and Joe. She's hoping that one day that will happen."

However, Gossip Cop has called out HollywoodLife for concocting many similar narratives in the past. We busted the site in July for making up a story about Gomez wanting to take The Weeknd on a "double date" with Swift and her boyfriend. Shortly before that fabrication, the unreliable outlet falsely claimed Gomez and The Weeknd were planing a "double date" with Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux. The singer's additional "double date" participants were said to have included Zedd, Calvin Harris, Zayn Malik, Gigi Hadid and Niall Horan, who she never actually dated.

Basically, HollywoodLife keeps reusing this tired trope in an attempt to drag two famous couples into one bogus story. Now, the site is trying to capitalize on the news that Gomez is back with Bieber. Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the singer, who exclusively assures us no one in her trusted inner circle spoke to HollywoodLife about her making plans with any other couples.
