ACME TOWNSHIP, MI -- A 21-year-old Traverse City man was arrested after he allegedly choked his mother following an argument over lyrics to a Justin Bieber song.
According to a report from the Traverse City Eagle, the man and his 41-year-old mother were traveling in a car Saturday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. when one of Bieber's songs came on the radio.
The two began arguing about the lyrics and eventually, the woman pulled the car over and got into the backseat of the car. The man then began choking her before getting out of the vehicle, police said, according to the Record Eagle.
The suspect was arrested on a charge of suspicion of domestic assault and was taken to the Grand Traverse County Jail.
The Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office could not be reached for comment.
