Barbra Streisand is NOT mentoring Justin Bieber, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the story. There is no professional relationship between the two superstars.
But RadarOnline is announcing in a headline on Monday, "Biebs, Meet Babs! Streisand SECRETLY MENTORING Struggling Bieber." According to the webloid, "Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, was recently spotted having a top-secret meeting with Barbra Streisand's long time manager, Martin Erlichman, who passed on advice from the legend for the young star." Gossip Cop isn't sure how the two men were "spotted" if the meeting was "top secret."
In any case, it's alleged that during the sit-down, Erlichman delivered Streisand's personal advice for the young singer. "Barbra and Martin have seen it all. Together they have negotiated every aspect of a cruel business and are now passing on advice to the young star and his manager," a so-called "source" claims to the site. And this is supposedly part of a long-term, but long-distance partnership between Bieber and Streisand.
"It hasn't been the first time these two have met, and it won't be the last," the outlet's supposed snitch says of the two managers. Conveniently, though, the online publication makes a point of saying Streisand and Bieber won't be seen working together. "Babs and Justin are not working on a secret project together and they certainly have no plans to record together," states the purported tipster.
This alleged "source" goes on, "The meeting was more about being a mentor and giving advice. Show business can be very cruel and Justin wants to still be relevant 60 years into his career like Barbra is." The webloid concludes by asking readers, "Do you think Streisand can save him?"
Well, first off, Bieber is not in need of "saving." His career is in fine form. But more importantly, Streisand is NOT serving as a mentor to him in any way, not even through their managers. Quite simply, aside from both being in the music business, the two performers have nothing to do with one another. These claims about a secret professional relationship are "not true," Gossip Cop has exclusively learned.
RadarOnline, of course, has published countless fictional tales about Bieber over the years, but Streisand has been a victim of the site's falsehoods, too. In fact, just a few weeks ago, the bad blog wrongly claimed Streisand and James Brolin were on the verge of divorce.
