A foul-mouthed tirade or an hilarious tribute to Australian television?

Bieber pranks film crew
Justin Bieber appears to swear at a Sunshine Coast television crew but says he was just "joking around", imitating Summer Heights High. 7 News Queensland
Belligerent Bieber responded with, what Seven News thought, was an expletive ridden rant.
"A foul-mouth tirade on the normally tranquil Makepeace Island," reporter Mackenzie Raven said before the footage cut to Bieber flipping the bird at the cameras.
"We're in Australia, we all know you have potty mouths," Bieber shouted at the camera, stationed on a boat just off the island which sits in the Noosa River on the Sunshine Coast.
But not all was as it seemed.
On Wednesday, Bieber, who is performing shows around Australia, took to Instagram to provide an explanation for his less than gentlemanly behaviour.
"I said 'puck you, miss'," he said to the camera as he strolled along the island.
"There's a difference between bullying and joking around, I was joking around."
Those eagle... err... eared amongst us would immediately be able to identify what's happening here.
Summoning his best islander accent (about as good as Chris Lilley's, to be fair) Bieber was paying tribute to the iconic Australian comedy series Summer Height's High and the breakout star of the show, Jonah from Tonga.
The 20-second video, sent out to his 80 million Instagram followers and watched more than a million times so far, continues the tribute.
"Will you apologise to the camera man?" he is asked.
"Sorry, Ben," he replied. "I was doing it for fun, he just didn't get that it was fun."
"The news lady is very upset with what you said Justin," the video continues.
"You on your period or what miss," Bieber responded.
A caption on the screen states: Your (sic) laughing but they didnt(sic) think it was funny.
"I could tell 'em a knock, kock joke and they wouldn't even think it was funny," Beiber stated. "I was punking him sir, watch MTV for once, sir."
Whether Bieber did, indeed, say "Puck you", or fired of some choice words after his tranquility was interrupted remains a mystery.
But what is clear is that the 23-year-old has spent a lot of time perfecting his impersonation of one of Lilley's most iconic characters.
