Frank's coming today so this list will be totally irrelevant in a few hours…
10. BANKS
Gemini Feed
From the slow pulsating synth, to the sassy anger she voices ("And to think you would get me to the altar / Like I follow you around like a dog that needs water"), this latest BANKS track says, "Don't cross me". Gemini Feed is a signature dark-alt pop throwback to 2014 premiered over on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 Show. Following the premiere she gave Mac a short interview about how Gemini Feedcame about saying, "It feels surreal having people hear one of my children that I've been working on. I just had so much to write about, this album for me is really kind of like a metamorphoses of me coming into my own." – Harrison Kefford
9. J HUS
Clean It Up
British rapper J HUS was part of the BBC's Sounds of 2016 longlist and while we haven't heard heaps from him this year, he dropped two new tracks this year to remind us he's still burning hot. Clean It Up was the second to drop and also the best with HUS going in fiercely over a trap beat that shares similarities with Panda. It's all about the Brit showing off his flow and he does that and more, coming in with impressive ambition.
8. Tove Lo
Cool Girl
It may not feel like it but this is Tove Lo's first official new single since her 2014 record Queen Of The Clouds. It doesn't feel like she's been away because just this year she's dropped collaborations with Flume, Broods and Nick Jonas. Cool Girl has been plucked from her second album Lady Wood out 28th October and as the label suggests, it's cool as shit. It's driven by a slick, pulsating beat that feels like the type of music that can only truly be appreciated while cruising down the highway feeling yourself (not literally, that's dangerous, more in a self-confidence sorta way).
7. Montaigne
Come Back To Me
Montaigne's debut record came out today and it feels like she's done a lot of growing up since we first interviewed her in the infancy of this site. Her music has always been great but Glorious Heights is bold and anthemic with a confidence that her earlier songs didn't possess as much of. Come Back To Me is the centrepiece of the record. It's a groovy, off-kilter pop song with a chorus that glides effortlessly. Like Because I Love You it perfectly captures all Montaigne's strengths from her voice to her gravity-defying voice.
6. Raury
NEVERALONE
Raury is "about to face lot of demons" with his new music and NEVERALONE, an incredibly personal and intimate new cut seems to be the first step for the rapper/singer.
"When it feels too personal to share, I got to give it out," he tweeted about the new track which is a solemn but simultaneously uplifting track that deals with issues of mental health and loneliness. While it's autobiographical, he makes a wider message that, "you are never alone no matter where you go".
Raury's dropped politically and socially charged songs in the past but it's inspiring to hear him approach his lyrics on a personal level.

5. Wafia & Ta-KU
Love Somebody
Today Wafia and Ta-Ku released their collaborative EP (m)edian and Love Somebody is the highlight.. Love Somebody follows on from Meet Me In The Middle and further proves that Wafia and Ta-Ku are one of the best musical pairings in the country. Once again we get to hear Ta-Ku out from behind the production desk, delivering a falsetto-driven second verse. Wafia starts us off with a typically lovely vocal, wafting over sparse, haunting beats.
4. Grimes
Medieval Warefare
Grimes' contribution to the Suicide Squad soundtrack comes in a track titled Medieval Warfare. From its shredding and distorted guitar to the uniquely sweet, yet all up in your grill vocal work, this feels like the cherry on top of her 10/10 record Art Angels. You can just imagine Medieval Warfare being snuck nicely into that already blaring and highly energetic live performance she brings. Premiering the track on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show, Grimes gave a short interview about how Medieval Warfare came about explaining she watched the film's trailer "at least 20 or 30 times" before working on the track and was "openly weeping' when contacted about contributing to the soundtrack. Grimes also spoke about feeling intense pressure to deliver a track with a perfect balance, choosing to make "the end more weird and the beginning more normal." – Harrison Kefford
3. Miguel
Cadillac
Next week Baz Luhrmann will premiere his new television show The Get Down on Netflix and, as he so often does, he's compiled an impressive soundtrack to go alongside it. Miguel's contributed Cadillac to the soundtrack, perfectly tailoring his sound to the show with retro stylings and a '70s-esque swagger thanks to the horns and smooth vocals. Given that Miguel's WildHeart was a bit of a throwback anyway, suiting the style of the show is barely a stretch and instead it just sounds like another gold addition to the singer's excellent catalogue.
2. DJ Snake & Justin Bieber
Let Me Love You
DJ Snake released his debut album Encore today and while the whole thing is well worth a listen, it's the Justin Bieber collaboration Let Me Love You that has been getting plenty of attention. It's Justin's second track out in as many weeks after he teamed up with Major Lazer for the world dominating Cold Water and we're willing to place bets that this will have the same success. The Biebs sounds great on the verses, Snake sounds great doing his trademark snakey sounds and it's basically just a bloody delight to listen to.
1. Jacques Greene
You Can't Deny
Canadian producer Jacques Greene hasn't given us anything since his 2014 EP After Life, After Party but he's changed that today dropping You Can't Deny. Taking us straight to early morning in the club, it's an emotional slice of techno that builds with pulsating beats and pitched-up vocals. We're unsure yet if this is taken off a forthcoming EP or is just a standalone release but either way it's good to have a bit of Greene back in our lives.
