Justin Bieber Vs EXO? Why is #exosnatchedjustinsfansparty trending?

At the time of writing, the hashtag #exosnatchedjustinsfansparty is a global trend on Twitter, but why?

Well, we're not sure how it actually got started, but what does seem evident is that it's being used in a row between Justin Bieber fans and fans of EXO.

For example, one tweet among the millions posted on social media site Twitter reads, "Justin Bieber and EXO had a concert on the same night in Tokyo…

"All the people went to see EXO instead of him [Justin Bieber]."

In case you've never heard of EXO, according to Wiki, they are a "South Korean–Chinese boy group based in Seoul."

The article adds, "The group debuted in 2012 with twelve members separated into two subgroups, Exo-K and Exo-M, performing music in Korean and Mandarin, respectively."

And it seems they are a massive force to be reckoned with in the music industry as earlier this year, Forbes Korea ranked them as the "most powerful celebrity".

However, back to the hashtag, and sadly, it's being used by some to post vile abuse – much of which is racist – online.

In response to that, one Twitter user wrote, "So disgusted ppl are posting death threats and making racist comments. Why cant you just respect exos fandom?"

Meanwhile, one Justin Bieber fan tweeted, "Exo idiots talking about how one fav plays piano, other guitar etc. Bi*ch Justin can do that sh** alone….SEAT."

An EXO fan wrote, "When beliebers can't think of anymore good insults so they start being racist."

However, others called on the drama to end, with one Twitter user commenting, "exo is talented. justin is talented. there's no need to compare them cause they are very different."

Another tweeted, "I think tomorrow we should trend #AllFandomsDeserveRespect because all fandoms are amazing and beautiful."

Well, sadly, though that should be how it is, it won't be…

For some reason, fans of any description seem to feel the need to make a competition out of it in such circumstances. But what always shocks us is how vile things can get.

Does anyone really believe their idols would want them to post abuse, racism and even death threats in their name?

We very much doubt it, though that said, as we reported recently, Justin Bieber did in fact urge his fans to "take down" a website simply because something was written on it that he didn't like.

But anyway, why do you think fandoms attack each other like this?
