UFC News 2016: Nate Diaz Reveals Moment He Almost Brawled With Justin Bieber

UFC News 2016 – Welterweight contender Nate Diaz has garnered instant mainstream attention after he handed UFC superstar and reigning featherweight world champion Conor McGregor last March 5th at UFC 196.

Nate Diaz's record in the UFC is not as stellar as those held by his contemporaries who hold bigger superstar statuses. Since his entry in the UFC in 2007, the 31-year-old Stockton, California native racked up a win-loss slate of 20-10, with 17 victories by stoppage.

But his victory over "The Notorious" has instantly catapulted him into public recognition, having handed the UFC's most brash talker and top draw his first loss in the company since 2010. Since then, he has made more appearances in interviews, and even entertainment talks shows in Extra TV.

Most recently, he also made an appearance on late night TBS talk show Conan, hosted by renowned television personality Conan O'Brien.

Right after his win over McGregor, Diaz received some mild criticism from pop star and controversial celebrity figure Justin Bieber. Bieber, who was vocal for his support for McGregor, was also candid about his opinions about Diaz's method of victory, which he described as a "bad fighting style" in a social media post.

In trademark Nate Diaz fashion, he responded through a post of his own, showing a cartoon image of himself slapping Bieber in the face, alluding to his trademark move the "Stockton Slap."

While there seemed to be a rift between both men, the two actually met up in a club in Los Angeles. During his appearance on Conan (as reported by MMA Mania), Diaz explained the situation, where he said we was expecting a fight to break out between Bieber and his entourage against him and his companions that night.

Diaz says it was Bieber who came up to him to "squash the beef," which came as a surprise to him.

"I was like 'Wow, is that how a beef works out here? It's all good, I have no problem with you Justin Bieber.' He's cool now," Diaz said.
