HollywoodLife is regularly caught lying about Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber. This latest example involves Monday's Met Gala. Gossip Cop can expose the fabrications.

On Saturday, the site ran a purported "exclusive" with the headline, "Selena Gomez Wants Justin Bieber To Be Her Date To The Met Gala: 'She Misses Him.'" A so-called "insider" was quoted as saying, "Selena wishes things were different and that she was going to the Met with Justin. She misses him tons and there is no one right now she would rather be going with." Gossip Cop learned through our contacts from Vogue, who weren't at liberty to comment on the record, that Bieber wouldn't be at the magazine's big event. So, we were curious to see what the blog would do once the star-studded event took place without him.

Well, the website has totally changed its narrative. After first alleging Gomez wanted Bieber to be her date to the ball, the online publication is now flip-flopping with a new story on Tuesday that alleges she's "relieved she went solo and didn't bring a man this year." Here, a supposed "source" claims Gomez was "very happy that she went to the Met Gala alone because she didn't feel that anyone deserved to go with her." Noting that the singer-actress attended the 2017 gathering with then-boyfriend The Weeknd, this alleged tipster maintains, "She didn't want to make it a theme that she goes to the Met Gala with a guy every year."

But that's not what the outlet contended just three days ago. HollywoodLies, as it is nicknamed for its tendency to make-up phony stories, insisted Gomez wanted Bieber to accompany her and was her "ideal companion" for the special night. How does that square away with the site now claiming she didn't think "anyone deserved" to join her? Simply put, after Bieber didn't attend the gala, the blog changed course, even though its new narrative blatantly contradicts its old one. See the conflicting headlines below.

It's apparent the website doesn't really have "insiders" or "sources," otherwise its tales would be consistent and accurate. And incidents like this are why Gomez is on record calling HollywoodLies "the worst" in an interview with Billboard. Time also tends to prove when the outlet is lying.

In late February and early March, for instance , the publication peddled bogus "exclusives" about Bieber spending his birthday with Gomez, before being forced to abandon that storyline when it became clear they were apart on his special day. The site was similarly caught spreading fiction later in March when over the course of two days it went from claiming Bieber and Gomez were "meeting in secret" to asserting they were taking time apart. It's quite obvious the blog doesn't care about being right and sharing the truth. It seemingly only cares about duping fans and search engines regardless of the facts.
