Selena Gomez posts body-positive message on Instagram after being photographed in her bikini ...

AFTER a rumoured breakup with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez has taken refuge on the shores of Sydney Harbour, living her best life while visiting Australia this week.

Spotted with friends on a yacht in Sydney on Monday, Gomez proved she won't let a breakup (or a relationship break — whatever they're calling it) impact her happiness.

Pictured playing around with friends, jumping in the water and enjoying on-board snacks, Gomez looked all the part off-duty and completely relaxed.

Fans were quick to notice scars on Gomez's body from her May 2017 kidney transplant, which the singer opened up about late last year when she revealed friend Francia Raisa donated her kidney to allow Gomez to get lifesaving treatment for lupus.

Monday was the first time Gomez had publicly shown off her scars, and we've got to admit, a yacht on the world's most famous harbour isn't the worst location to do so.

But it seems the singer copped some ridiculous criticism on social media, because she took to Instagram to post a body-positive message.

"The beauty myth — an obsession with physical perfection that traps modern women in an endless cycle of hopelessness, self consciousness, and self-hatred as she tries to fulfil society's impossible definition of flawless beauty," she wrote.

"I chose to take care of myself because I want to, not to prove anything to anyone. Wind in her sails."

Gomez is in town for Hillsong's Colour Conference, a religious convention specifically for women.

She spent the later part of the day at the International Convention Centre at Darling Harbour, just a few kilometres away from her yacht-spotting.

Gomez arrived in Sydney last week, spotted at Sydney Airport with a black ukulele while wearing a pageboy hat and denim jacket — not your usual flight accessories, but we're not complaining.

All in all, a successful day on the water for the singer. Welcome to Australia, Selena!
