What would you do if you received Justin Bieber's Latin Grammy in the mail? Well, if you're producer Carlos Escalona, you immediately post it to Instagram.
Escalona also won his first Latin Grammy the same night as Bieber back in November, but as producer of the kids' album Marc Anthony for Babies.
"For a moment I thought they were wrong and put my name as part of the producers of 'Despacito,'" Escalona told Billboard, who later realized after he opened the box that it was the Canadian superstar's trophy and immediately called to notify the Latin Grammys of what happened.
Escalona has been producing music for more than 15 years and has worked with artists such as Paulina Rubio, Chino & Nacho and Danny Ocean. But the project that led him to win the coveted trophy was Marc Anthony for Babies, on which he worked with Nacho.
The picture of Escalona with Bieber's Grammy was just a moment he wanted to share with all his friends before having to return it. So where is Escalona's award? Apparently, Bieber received it and the Latin Grammys office, which has apologized for the misunderstanding, is taking care of the matter.
