Selena Gomez may have just addressed the alleged feud she's having with her mom

Selena Gomez has reportedly been in rough waters with her mom, Mandy Teefy, for the past few weeks. But this isn't the first time. Apparently, a source told People that Selena and Mandy have had moments of estrangement before, but this time the separation has turned into public displays of an unwell relationship.

The two unfollowed each other on Instagram. One of the first thoughts was that the mother-daughter duo weren't on speaking terms because of Selena getting back together with Justin Bieber. Neither Selena nor Mandy have specifically said that this is the reason, but Selena's most recent Instagram post might give us a closer look at why they're taking a break.

Gomez took a trip to her hometown, Grand Prairie, Texas, and even paid a visit to her childhood home. The photo shows her sitting on the stoop of the house, smiling and writing, "The home I grew up in, from birth to 13… (no one was home when I knocked this time lol)."

She continued, "I visit this place every chance I get. In many ways it very well could have been better than my life today, but I'm grateful for a voice that can enable change today. Even when I don't know how to do it well or actually want it. I love you Grand Prairie. Thank you."

While her Instagram is usually pretty telling, it's kind of all over the place right now. This post seems to reveal a more humble side to Gomez's difficulties with her family, and what her home might have fostered within her. But her IG profile picture is an older, silly picture of her mother. Is this to throw shade? Do the post and profile picture change have anything to do with each other, or the reported feud?

The personal side of celebrity can be tricky, especially when it's between a mother and daughter. Hopefully Selena's trip home helped her heal and rebuild her relationship with her mother.
