23-year-old pop musician Justin Bieber shared an image on social media of himself reading the bible, albeit not dressed in his Sunday best.
The "Never Say Never" singer, who has over 95 million followers on Instagram, has been demonstrating his Christian faith in recent months.
In the image posted Jan. 6, a shirtless Bieber looks down at a marked-up Bible of which the version is not visible. His torso is covered in black-and-white tattoos which Christian Post notes includes religious imagery, such as a lion, angels and a cross.
The pop star appears to be in a private plane when he took the image.
"Wowzers," he captioned.
Despite Bieber's choice to show off both his faith and his body, fans have reacted positively to the photo. As of noon on Jan. 8, it had garnered over 7.3 million likes.
The Christian community has also embraced Bieber's transition to a faith-based lifestyle. CBN reports that he has been using his status on social media to share messages about Jesus Christ.
According to Christian Post, he attends Hillsong Church and was publicly baptized by pastor Carl Lentz in the bathtub of NBA star Tyson Chandler in 2015. His Instagram biography links to the first session of "How's Your Soul? Small Group Bible Study" by pastor Judah Smith.
On Dec. 14, 2017 Bieber said that Jesus was "changing [him] from the inside out everyday." Next to the caption was an image of a whiteboard with the following text:
"Do you feel you have exhausted all options? Do you feel helpless? Do you feel like you are never good enough? What if I told you that there's a God that's willing to meet you WHEREVER you're at! What if I told you he could take away your pain, shame, guilt, and fears. #JESUS."
Two weeks later, Bieber auctioned off a painting he did of a cross, which he titled "Cavalry", to raise funds for cost of the California wildfires.
Bieber is also rekindling his relationship with his old-flame from his less-pious days, Selena Gomez. PEOPLE reports that the couple spent New Year's in Mexico together. On Jan. 3, they were seen leaving a pilates studio in West Hollywood. Bieber reportedly frequents the gym and booked a private session for him and Gomez.
One source told PEOPLE that they are "doing great." Other sources said that the couple were being guided by pastor Lentz.
"They don't want to repeat the same patterns as before," an insider for Gomez told PEOPLE. "They've clearly had issues in the past. They love each other and truly do want the best for each other."
