Dickinson State Athlete of the Week - Ryan Clark

DP: Where are you from and why did you choose DSU?

RC: "I'm originally from Adelaide, which is on the south coast of Australia. I originally went to a junior college in Devils Lake called Lake Region State. I was recruited by Coach (Justin) Wetzel two years ago."

DP: How long have you been playing basketball and what's your favorite part about it?

RC: "I've been playing basketball since I was about four-years-old, a little tucker. I just love everything about it, the friends you make, the competition. It's just all great."

DP: What's the difference in competition between Australia and the U.S.?

RC: "I would say the athleticism in college basketball is probably greater than what I experienced back home but competition-wise everyone competes just as hard."

DP: What goals do you guys have for the rest of the year? Personal goals?

RC: "For team goals, we want to win our conference and hopefully go to the national tournament and do as well as possible there. Personally, it's my last year, so I just want to have the best year possible for the team."

DP: Who's your celebrity crush?

RC: "For male I love JB (Justin Bieber). That's my inspiration. And female? I don't know, one of the Kardashians. They're really cool."

DP: If you could have any superpower what would you choose?

RC: "Time travel."

DP: Do you have any New Year's resolutions?

RC: "I always say to eat better because I'm a big candy-eater, so let's see if I can do that this year."

DP: Who has been your biggest inspiration to succeed?

RC: "My parents. They both put in so much time to get me here today. Without them I wouldn't be here today. So, both of them."
