Laura Plummer says she thought she was going to be set free when she was initially led into the docks yesterday.
But the 33-year-old, from Hull, was instead given three years in the country's hellish Qena prison.
According to the Sun, Laura slumped to the floor as she was sentenced and wept: "The've got it wrong".
She is reported to have told her mum, Roberta Synclair, after the harsh verdict was read out: "I thought I was going to be freed – I thought this was the end.
"Everyone was saying how strong my case was and that it was only a matter of time. How can this be happening?
"I can't do three years here, I'm so frightened, I haven't done anything wrong."

Laura was originally stopped by customs as she flew into the Red Sea resort Hurghada with 300 Tramadol tablets in her suitcase.
She claimed the prescription painkiller, which is legal in the UK but banned in Egypt, was to give to her Egyptian husband, Omar.
Her family say they have now lodged an appeal against her sentence.
Laura's family had previously slammed Egyptian authorities for keeping her in a filthy cell for three days without food after her arrest.

A family source said Laura's partner Omar was with the family in Egypt at the moment of sentencing. He was approached for comment.
Speaking to Daily Star Online, Laura's sister Rachel said: "We are appealing it immediately, this is so unfair.
"We trusted [the court] to make the right decision and they haven't! Three years is too long she's had enough punishment!"
