Selena Gomez and Her Mom May Be Feuding Over Justin Bieber

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have been rekindling their romance. From brunches, bike rides, and even trips to church, it looks like the former lovebirds are ready to turn over a new leaf in their relationship. Since Gomez broke off her yearlong relationship with The Weeknd, Bieber seems ready to be the leading man in the Wizards of Waverly Place alum's life.

Though Bieber seems to be taking things with Gomez seriously this time, the romance isn't exactly going over well with Gomez's mother, Mandy Teefey. In fact, the revival of Jeleena could affect Gomez and her mother's relationship in the worst way imaginable. Here are all of the clues that the "Wolves" singer and her mom may be coming to blows over Bieber.

A rekindled romance

From Instagram fights to cheating and general immaturity, when Bieber and Gomez were on and off again until 2014, things got very messy and very public. However, it looks like the "Sorry" singer is trying to do things differently this time around.

A source told Hollywood Life, "He just simply isn't that person anymore. He's determined to show Selena, her friends, and family that he isn't that guy now. He's done a lot of growing up in the past couple years and it shows. He's really an incredible, loving, focused and good-hearted guy and wants everyone to see it."

Family complications

Though Gomez and Bieber seem determined to move forward with their relationship, Gomez's family is extremely unhappy about the revelation.

According to TMZ,  a member of Gomez's family said, "Justin is a vile human and will never be accepted by us. As long as she is even speaking to him in any way, it is not only disrespectful to everyone around her; it is disrespectful to herself."

A major blow-up

It looks like Gomez's mother Mandy Teefey is having the hardest time adjusting to seeing her daughter with Bieber again. TMZ is reporting that the mother and daughter got into a heated discussion when Teefey found out her daughter was attending couple's counseling with the Biebs. In fact, the argument got so bad that they unfollowed one another on Instagram.

Because Gomez is still recovering from a kidney transplant and any stress may trigger her lupus, we can see why her mother might be distressed by this new news. Other family members think that Gomez's stay in rehab to treat depression was triggered by her relationship with the "Love Yourself" singer.

A health scare

Unfortunately, the fight between the mother and daughter could not have come at a worse time. Shortly after that, Teefey checked into a hospital.

A source told People,"It's been a stressful time for Mandy, and she made the decision herself to go to the hospital and make sure everything was okay. This wasn't just about Justin."

Determination

It seems like the 23-year-old singer has no interest in driving a wedge between Gomez and her family, as he knows how important they are to her. However, he is still determined to make them see that he is a changed man.

An insider told People:

Justin knows Selena's family is not happy about her dating him. He has known for a long time. But he is adamant that he has changed and is a better boyfriend now. He will keep trying to prove himself to her family. He is sad that her mom is not doing well. Selena is very close with her mom, so it's stressful for her. He wants Selena to be happy.

 Giving each other some space

As both Gomez and her mother focus on their health and happiness, it looks like they are giving one another some space. Teefey is probably hoping that if she doesn't meddle or pry, her daughter will come around, but only time will tell.

A source told E! News that the family is on Teefey's side, saying:

They do not think he is a good person for Selena to have in her life and are skeptical that he has changed. Even if he is on his best behavior for now, eventually he will unravel. He has caused so much angst for the family and for Selena, They are very sad that she is choosing this route. They want to protect her as much as they can, but it is causing them a great deal of stress and pain to watch her give him another chance.

From where we're sitting, we guess that Bieber won't be invited to hang with Gomez's family for the holidays.

Trouble in paradise

Perhaps all of the drama is coming a bit too soon. There are already reports of trouble between Bieber and Gomez. The couple visited the Sugar Factory in Seattle over the weekend. Though they appeared to be having fun at first, Gomez eventually walked out on the date.

E! News is reporting that Bieber was dancing, showing off in the store, and attracting a ton of attention, and Gomez got fed up and left. Once the 23-year-old realized he was all alone, he quickly followed her out. At least he's learning?
