India has had quite a grand year of musical bonanza in 2017.
With leading international pop-stars performing in the country one after the other, people here have witnessed what can be called a happy confluence of tunes and culture beyond geographical boundaries.
Most importantly, the craze among Indians for each of the stars--as seen since the time the musicians set foot to their departure--reinstated their love for music beyond language and genre.
What it also proved was that Indians could go to any extent to prove their fandom. And that's why people did not even think twice before booking those expensive tickets to their concerts.
The musical carnival started with Justin Bieber's much-talked-about gig in Mumbai on May 10, this year. This was followed by that of The Chainsmokers and Ed Sheeran.

While each of the concerts had thousands of fans in attendance, where these performers really able to live up to their hype?
Let's take you through a flashback to analyse:
When Justin Bieber was accused of lip syncing at his Mumbai concert
One cannot possibly forget how Beliebers in India lost calm over Bieber's debut performance in India. From the singer's extravagant demands during his stay in India to the sky-high tickets, everything about his concert had a touch of flamboyance in it.
It's not like Bieber's concert was devoid of wow moments completely. The star met with a loud cheer when he greeted the audience with a namaste, when he welcomed 100 underprivileged kids to the stage, and even when he waved the country's national flag.
Almost threw up tonight. Thanks J! 😂 @justinbieber. It's past midnight here in Mumbai so it's my birthday! 🎉 #May11https://t.co/XtjsYnjdrWpic.twitter.com/qhLs64mxsA

However, a lot of fans returned home disappointed, complaining about how the Canadian pop star had resorted to lip-syncing while performing his songs. What followed was an outrage on social media.
When The Chainsmokers came, performed and leftBieber was so bad it was hilarious. He had the stage presence of khichdi. Plus kaafi lip sync.
(Lucky that my tickets were free :D)

The Grammy-winning EDM DJ duo arrived in India in September, this year, as part of their Road to Ultra India concert. The musicians kicked off their tour with a power-packed performance in Mumbai, followed by one in Delhi NCR.

Although the arrival of the performers in the country had created a lot of buzz, social media--the regular site of emotional overflow--seemed to lose track of their concerts. The makers of Closer, however, did receive a lot of cheer from their audience, whose love was returned with some great music, followed by the duo waving the national flag in their concert in Mumbai.
When Ed Sheeran appeared on the stage in a blue kurta
Perhaps, it was only Ed Sheeran's concert that lived up to its hype.
The Shape of You singer held the attention of the audience right from the moment he entered the stage in a blue kurta, which also had the name of his album, Divide, printed in Devnagari script.
Apparently he isn't wearing an ordinary kurta there's DIVIDE written on it in Hindi 😠Legend! #EdSheeranIndiapic.twitter.com/ZNBHFulPrF

The show, that was held on November 19 in Mumbai, had fans swaying and cheering at the top of their voices as the singer belted out his best numbers. And just when his sudden disappearance from the stage was about to dishearten people, he returned--this time, donning a Team India jersey.
