Did Selena Gomez's kidney problems lead to her split from Justin Bieber? Sources say The Weeknd's girlfriend didn't specifically break up with Bieber because of her health issues. But time and time again she found he wasn't the stable and supportive boyfriend she needed in her life. And that was one more factor in her decision to end the relationship.

Gomez revealed last week that she underwent a kidney transplant following complications from lupus. Actress Francia Raisa donated her kidney to her longtime friend.

"Selena didn't ask Francia to be tested as a match," a source toldUs Weekly. "Francia is the kind of person who would offer to do that for any one of her friends."

This revelation provides more insight into Selena Gomez's decision to finally dump Justin Bieber for good in early 2016. That March, he tried one last time to win her back, but she had no desire to get back together with him.

Selena Gomez may not have had the patience for Justin Bieber's antics when she was sick.

That came just months before she revealed she was taking some time off to focus on her health. At the time, she said she was struggling with depression, anxiety and panic attacks stemming from lupus.

It's clear Gomez's health took a turn for the worse over the past year and a half. And as she got sicker, she decided she had no more patience for Bieber's alleged cheating and bad behavior.

According to TMZ, Gomez didn't tell Bieber about her transplant. In fact, the exes have not spoken for a long time. While they attend the same church, the church makes sure to keep the stars apart. 

"It was a childhood thing," a source said of Jelena's relationship. "They've both had other relationships. It's over."

The Weeknd rearranged his concert dates so he could be there for Selena Gomez after her kidney transplant.

Of course, Gomez has moved on from Bieber and is currently dating The Weeknd. And he has been everything that Bieber wasn't. He was right there with her when she was hospitalized for kidney failure back in May. He even rearranged his tour schedule so he could be at her side during her kidney transplant.
