Justin Bieber's Rendition Of 'Despacito' Has Everyone Flying Up To Puerto Rico

Who would have thought a simple song can turn a whole country into the ultimate tourist destination!

But who are we trying to kid? Anything that is sung by Justin Bieber will not only make millions of girls squeal with delight but it seems it can also influence one's holiday destination decision.

According to Hotels.com™ it's also sending travelers flocking to the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. The travel expert reveals that since the song launched on 17 April, online searches for the exotic Caribbean island are up more than 45%.

"Puerto Rico has long been a vacation destination but to many travelers it is still pretty unknown.

"We know popular culture has a strong influence on our travel decisions and as Puerto Rico is the home of singers Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, and gets a big shout out in their hit song, it seems to be encouraging more people to explore this great destination," said Jessica Chuang, Regional Director for Greater China, Southeast Asia & India for Hotels.com brand.

The irony of it all is that the song Despacito literally translates 'slowly' which holidaymakers are only doing the complete opposite as they are apparently eager to see "how they do it down in Puerto Rico".

As this beautiful island now floods with millions of tourist, finding a suitable accommodation might get tricky. Thankfully, Hotels.com had stepped in and made life easier for us all.
