Justin Bieber has been banned from China for being a naughty boy

Is it too late now to say sorry?

It looks like Justin Bieber's Chinese fans may be out of luck when it comes to seeing the Canadian singer live, as he has been banned from the world's most populous country.

The Chinese authorities have posted a statement to their website giving their reasons for the ban, and it seems that Biebs hasn't done himself any favours with his 'bad boy' behaviour over the last few years.

He last performed in China in 2013, but since then his various run-ins with the law (including his arrest for DUI and drag racing his Lamborghini in Miami) have caused the People's Republic to change their opinion of him.

They said that 'unspecified demeanours' had led to their decision, with Beijing's culture bureau responding to a fan's demand for answers by saying: "Justin Bieber is a gifted singer, but he is also a controversial young foreign singer. As far as we are concerned, he has engaged in a series of bad behaviours, both in his social life and during a previous performance in China, which caused discontent among the public."

His 'Purpose' world tour hits Asia later this year, but it looks like the Chinese capital will not be on the schedule.

However, there is hope for the future, say the bureau, who wrote: "We hope Justin Bieber is able to improve his conduct as he grows up and will once again find public favour."
