"Despacito" is still in charge in the U.K. (as it is here in the States as well), and as of this week, it has now joined a small group of extremely successful tracks that have managed at least nine frames at the top of the tally. For "Despacito," those nine turns haven't all been in a row, as the Latin track fronted by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee and featuring Justin Bieber stepped aside to allow a cover of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" recorded for charity to debut at No. 1.
Steady in the runner-up slot is DJ Khaled's "Wild Thoughts," which features vocals from Rihanna and Bryson Tiller. The song, the fourth to serve as a single off his latest album Grateful, seems ready to hit No. 1 any week now, if only "Despacito" will finally relent.
Also a non-mover in third place is French Montana's "Unforgettable," which features fellow hip-hop star Swae Lee. The track also just reached the top 10 in the U.S., many weeks after the British public caught on to the catchy track.
Up to a new high point of No. 4 is Calvin Harris' "Feels," the latest single off his new album Funk Wav Bounces - Vol. 1. The tune, which features vocals by Katy Perry, Pharrell and Big Sean, first hit the highest region on the singles ranking last week thanks to the success of the record. The dance-pop song is followed immediately by another electronic production, Jonas Blue's "Mama," which features vocals from William Singe.
New to the top 10 this time around is Sigala and Ella Eyre's "Came Here For Love." The track is the fifth top 10 for producer Sigala, while for pop singer Eyre, it's her third trip to the top tier. It's not yet clear whose upcoming album the song will wind up on, if any, or potentially both.
Former One Direction singer Liam Payne's first solo outing "Strip That Down" slides backward to No. 7, followed by Rita Ora's latest top 10, "Your Song." The final two positions inside the area are controlled by Maggie Lindemann's "Pretty Girl" at No. 9 and Little Mix and Stormzy "Power" in last place.
