Kevin used to go to school across the road in Terenure College. "It's funny because when we were kids, we were campaigning to get a bike park in Bushy Park and I hear they have a good one now."
Kevin was in Dublin with his actress girlfriend, Karen Hassan, below, and the couple attended a Powers Irish Whiskey appreciation evening at the Louis Copeland store on Wicklow Street. Brand ambassador Michael Carr led a tasting of three Powers Irish whiskeys served in bespoke barrel drams. The unusual canapés chosen to complement the whiskey's distinctive, full flavours included spiced feta with beetroot marmalade.
Known for his roles in Raw, Copper, Crossbones and Guilt - a drama loosely based on the Amanda Knox case - Kevin likes to hike in LA with his German shepherd, and Karen and himself drove across America on his Harley-Davidson, raising money for Temple Street Children's Hospital.
Best friends with Howth-born actor Eoin Macken, of Night Shift fame, Kevin told me, "It was only after a screening that Jim Sheridan was hosting that we met and we went for a drink and became best friends. We do a lot of work together now. Actually, we are putting together a pilot right now and have a few scripts we want to work on together. No doubt we will be doing something in the near future."
Francesca Stainer and Yasu Pola-Samuels, above, were at the Mint Velvet AW17 party at Minus One, an über-cool house on Dublin's John Dillon Street. The décor, which includes a sunken plunge pool in the basement which is open to the sky, almost distracted us from the clothes.
