All you need to know about DJ Jax Jones

DJ and producer Jax Jones, 30, checks in about the Macarena, helping an injured fan and ghostly goings-on. His new single, Instruction (ft Demi Lovato & Stefflon Don), is out now.

Your latest song has been compared with a certain cheesy '90s classic — how do you feel about that?

I'm honoured! The Macarena actually got referenced recently by Justin Bieber in his Sorry video, so it's influenced pop culture to this day.

When was the last time you couldn't follow an Instruction?

My missus bought me a DIY book a few years ago, but I'm shocking. I still can't put a shelf up straight.

Have you ever had a 'hero' moment?

I was DJ-ing at a party in The Alps and a girl was having too much fun on top of a table. She collapsed to the floor, banged her head and had mild concussion. I stopped the music mid-set and shouted, "Can we get a crew to help this girl?" Everyone was dancing and hadn't noticed. She messaged me a few days later. "I could have been there for a while, thanks for helping me," she said.

What is your worst habit?

When I eat food, I always get herbs stuck in my teeth afterwards.

Have you experienced anything supernatural?

My girlfriend claimed there was a ghost of an old man in our last flat. She would be in the shower and see him in the bathroom. She said he was friendly, but maybe too friendly — a perv-ageist! [Laughs].
