Although it hasn't felt like it in recent weeks, summer is basically here. With the new season comes heat, sunburn, vacation and of course plenty of songs to fill your head that capture the scene of summer 2017.
While the summer is still young, it's never too soon to start putting together playlist of songs that could go down as the best warm weather tracks of the year. Here's a look at some of the best hits out there so far.
Bruno Mars - "That's What I Like"
Bruno Mars knows just what the people like and he gives it to them which each hit single he releases that hooks on to listeners. "That's What I Like" is a hit single he put out in January, but it has the potential to last well into the summer.
Louis Tomlinson signs with Simon Cowell for first solo album
Mars has a way of crafting pop songs that go on to be classics in a similar way that Michael Jackson once did. "That's What I like" is perfect for a summer day, night or anytime you're trying liven up a barbeque.
Drake - "Passionfruit"
No matter what season it is, Drake seems to constantly have a song out that's at the top of the charts and overwhelming your radio. For summer 2017, that song is going to be "Passionfruit" off his "More Life" playlist.
"Passionfruit" may not be Drake's most up-tempo song, but the slow driving beat is enough for anyone to bob their head along to or feel the beat on the dance floor. Drake is a certified hit-maker and his latest is set to leave a mark on this summer.

Lorde - "Green Light"
What better song to play on your way down the shore this summer than a song called "Green Light." Lorde is ready to once again make a big splash in music when she released her new album "Melodrama" June 16, just as summer is just getting started.
"Green Light" was the first single put out by Lorde, which perfectly captures the excitement of summer as the song slowly builds and builds until it hits the extremely poppy chorus. While you drive through green lights on traffic lights on the way to the beach this summer, "Green Light" would make a great addition to any playlist.

The DJ has the ability to create songs that get stuck in your head and stay there for long periods of time. "Slide" could be a track that gets in your head in June and could still be sitting there by the time Labor Day weekend rolls around.
Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee feat. Justin Bieber - "Despacito"
Justin Bieber's fingerprints are going to be all over summer 2017, especially because of his contribution on Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's remix of "Despacito." Bieber debuts his Spanish for the song, which is the first mostly Spanish song in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart since the "Macarena."

DJ Khaled has the Midas touch when it comes to creating hit songs. With his latest album "Grateful" expected to drop on June 23, the producer is sure to be in contention for song of the summer especially with "I'm The One."
"I'm The One," which features Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper, and Lil Wayne, has already become a radio hit. The track is bound to be a staple of the airwaves throughout the summer with its hypnotic beat, catchy Bieber vocals and of course the verses from some of the biggest names in rap.
