Justin Bieber Mumbai concert: Organisers land in legal trouble due to excessive crowd

It's been two weeks since Justin Bieber took the nation by a storm with his maiden concert for Purpose Tour in the country, but the event is once again in the headlines. This time for a legal trouble over alleged duty evasion. According to the media reports, the massive crowd that attended Bieber's concert at the DIY Patil stadium for Justin Bieber's has got the concert organisers in a legal soup as the entertainment branch of the Thane Collectorate served them a show-cause notice on Monday.

Reportedly, to Arjun Jain, managing director of White Fox, which organised the show, had got the permission for 34,529 spectators for Justin Bieber's Mumbai concert. However, the entertainment branch has alleged that there were 7,272 more spectators there than the permitted limits.

As per the notice, the VVIP 1 and VVIP 2 sections, which were supposed to have 93 and 86 people respectively, were packed with 150 people each. On the other hand, VVIP 3 section, which had the permission of 518 people, held around 900 spectators.

As a result, the organisers have been charged with a penalty of Rs 1.85 crore and have been asked to pay a whopping amount of Rs 92.5 lakh as additional duty.

The media reports suggest that the entertainment branch has given a 10-day period to the organisers to provide the details and pay full duty.
