Kanye West wants his late mother's plastic surgeon mug shot for album cover

CONTROVERSIAL rapper Kanye West shared texts on Twitter that suggest he will use a photo of his late mother's plastic surgeon as his next album cover.

Dr Jan Adams performed liposuction and breast reduction procedures on Donda West in November 2007.

But Donda died the next day, and coroners said a combination of coronary artery disease and multiple post-operative factors were responsible, The Sun reports.

Kanye posted screenshots of a text exchange with a man called Wes, who is believed to be the rapper's long-time artistic collaborator Wes Lang, where he shared the idea.

After sending a photo of Dr Adams, Kanye wrote: "This is my album cover.

"This is plastic surgeon Jan Adams. The person who performed my mom's final surgery. Do you have any title ideas?"

Fans had a few, most of them negative:

Since returning to Twitter, the 40-year-old has prompted a lot of controversy, which has led celebs such as Harry Styles, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Kendrick Lamar to unfollow him.

In the screenshot of his text, Kanye also said "I want to forgive and stop hating."

While some people believe his strange behaviour is a result of a possible nervous breakdown, others genuinely believe he is all about the love and kindness now.

Earlier this week, Kanye shared texts with singer John Legend, who disagreed with the Stronger hitmaker's outspoken views on president Donald Trump.

But the pair seem to be friendly terms, as he has since shared a selfie with John on Twitter with the caption: "We got love. Agree to disagree."

The superstar and his wife Kim Kardashian paid tribute to Donda by naming their newborn daughter Chicago.

When Donda split with Kanye's father, the pair moved to Chicago — something Kanye spoke about in his track Hey Mama.

She went on to become a professor at the Chicago State University and, after her death, a charity in the city — which provides a safe haven for young people and allows them access to instruments — was created by Kanye to continue her legacy.

In 2013, he donated over $A200,000 to the charity and he is in regular contact with the cause.
