No, Justin Bieber Didn't Cost Z100's Jingle Ball A $1 Million Fine: Fake News Report

Another day, another bogus Justin Bieber gossip story. This time, it's $1 million worth of fakery.

The latest fiction? It turns out Bieber didn't land organizers of the Z100 Jingle Ball in New York City slapped with a $1 million fine last week, despite a bottom-feeding website peddling such a claim.

Respected rumor-debunkers Gossip Cop confirm Radar Online's story is "not true."

True to form, Radar's tale arrived with a clickbait-chasing headline. "Jingle Ball Brat! Justin Bieber Ruins Holiday Concert," the site trumpeted.

As is typical with sensationalist gossip stories, the article cited quotes from a so-called "source."

One supposed "source" allegedly shared, "Justin Bieber was so late to the stage that he ended up costing the promoter millions of dollars in fines."

The dubious insider also claimed that the pop prince went A.W.O.L. when it was time for him to perform and "eventually the organizers had to knock on his dressing room door and beg him to take the stage."

The "source" alleged "He was paid to perform for 30 minutes, but [Madison Square Garden] has a midnight curfew. Any show that goes on past midnight cost the promoter millions in fines."

The seemingly made-up "mole" also claims Jingle Ball organizers "begged the pop star to end the show" before the cut-off, but Bieber allegedly "refused to leave until 12:15 am, costing the producers millions and making a lot of fans mad that they missed their train home."

However, none of these far-fetched claims are true.

The ever-reliable Gossip Cop reports an informed source close to Bieber said there is no truth to Radar's version of events.

The Bieber insider told the site, "Justin waited patiently backstage as the show was running behind all night. He took the stage when asked and the show did not run over."

For perspective, the "Sorry" singer has just wrapped over 116 shows during his ongoing Purpose World Tour. There were no cancellations and all his concerts took place on time.

In other Justin Bieber fake news, Life & Style magazine recently logged another installment in its ongoing "Jelena" fanfic.

The tabloid magazine essentially claims Bieber's former girlfriend Selena Gomez lied about why she canceled her Revival World Tour earlier this year.

Back in August, Gomez's camp announced that the actress-singer needed to step away from the public eye to receive treatment for Lupus-related depression, anxiety, and panic attacks.

The 24-year-old previously revealed she has the autoimmune condition in 2015, over a year after going to rehab in January 2014.

In a statement to PEOPLE magazine, the Disney album said she'd discovered that "anxiety, panic attacks, and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges," and wanted to focus on her health and happiness.

At the time, an insider close to Gomez told PEOPLE that the star's break from her tour was "absolutely not related to alcohol or substance abuse" and was necessary because she "hadn't felt like herself" over the last couple of months.

Gomez made headlines when she returned from a Nashville, Tennessee rehab to attend the American Music Awards last month, where she delivered an emotional acceptance speech for an award.

Fast forward to now. Despite Gomez declaring that her lupus illness triggered her mental health problems, Life & Style claims the real reason Selena went to rehab is her alleged addiction to her ex, weed, and partying which appears to be code for alcohol.

"While Selena does suffer from lupus and other health issues, that's not the reason she went to rehab," a so-called insider is cited as saying.

"Her biggest addiction is Justin," the alleged source added. "She became a different person around him," says the source.

"She was extremely jealous and possessive and felt like she had to keep up with him to keep him. So she would drink and smoke, and then she got into weed and partying," the supposed insider continued.

Curiously, Life & Style previously claimed Gomez went to rehab because she was upset over seeing photos of Bieber with his then gal pal Sofia Richie during their short-lived fling. At the time, the tabloid alleged Selena's infamous Instagram spat with Justin made her realize they were never going to reunite.

Translation: Life & Style, like too many low-rent outlets to mention, doesn't seem to be able to find a "Jelena" plot it can convincingly stick to.

Media outlets don't tend to highlight the growing problem of fabricated gossip. But it's a real thing, as angry open letters by numerous celebrities slamming false stories shows. Jennifer Aniston and Britain's Prince Harry are just two examples of names who have spoken up about this issue.

As for Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, fans of the two stars are likely very aware that the rumor mill frequently uses the pair's long-dead relationship for easy clicks.

To recap: Bieber did not cause a $1 million fine at Z100's Jingle Ball, and the dismissal of Gomez's lupus and related mental health issues without a shred of proof is outrageous and wrong.
